The base tech behind techy things tends to go down in price over time in large part due to economy of scale ie: a Fujitsu 42" flat panel TV was ~$20,000 in 1997. You can buy a 42" flat panel for under $150 today and a SOTA OLED is about $1300.

I am not suggesting cars will get cheaper. They consistently get more complex but the individual sub-systems tend to get cheaper over time often racing downward faster than inflation ie: airbags, GPS, ACC, ABS, touchscreen infotainment interfaces, and etc.

The economy of scale will ensure batteries get cheaper over time especially when you consider like for like.
