The "one shot" method sounds good to me in theory, but has never worked well for me as I just can't keep my gun still enough.
If this
and this
are true, moving the reticle 10 clicks downward should move your POI down 3.6", making you 1.4" high at 100 yards. I don't know what your goal is for POI, but that should put you in the ballpark. If you don't want to use a lead sled (I've never used one either) putting a thin sand bag between the buttstock and your shoulder will reduce some of the felt recoil. BTW, that's about the extent of my "math" capabilities. Good luck and keep us updated
