To be fair, I think there’s some good points being made on both sides.
Braves lead MLB in hitting WAR from rookies and pitching WAR from rookies and they were the 29th ranked farm system by both ESPN and FanGraphs after the Olson trade.
Strider, Grissom and Harris alone have combined for more WAR than any other team’s entire rookie class and only Harris was even a top 100 prospect. Pretty impressive.
7.5 WAR in 115 games from the 29th ranked farm system is a pretty good case for being able to pluck guys/develop guys out of thin air.
