That was my first thought. Tony was too busy with acquiring a dead company (and then letting the Hardlys bury ROH's only good asset...The Briscoes), signing Twinkletoe's fetish girls, and signing WWE's damaged goods. Through Regal he had the inside Intel because of Vince/Johnny Ace's stupidity. Instead of using it to his advantage he put him into an on screen role as the advisor to a guy one head whack away from being a vegetable and a bunch of garbage gore stuntmen...only one of whom could argue that they were a wrestler.

The only guy they got that probably hurts HHH was Keith Lee. I think he was just as wasted as KK. Tony shite the bed on DK/Io/KK and with this tag tournament starting, I suspect Sasha & Naomi will be back on Monday. When the first story came out (and with his Indy garbage wrestlers' contracts expired thus freeing up some money) he should have thrown money at them to avoid what is going to happen. Hell, it looks like he can't even keep his homegrown top heel.

It may not be in 3 months but by Mania next year AEW will be where AWA was in by the mid 80s. Maybe MJF is how they get the title to Cody. Roman to face (Drew? Bron? Lashley?) to MJF to Cody at Mania. HHH will have his vision of WWE 2023-25 back on track. Tony won't have Vince's stupidity aiding him anymore. Wardlow is Scott Hall '86 and Hook is is Shawn Michaels early'87.

Daddy has way too much money for it to end up in an AWA/Verne bankrupt situation but looking at their main footprint they could easily be confined to the old AWA territory. (The Jaguars have been heavily rumored to be Chicago bound, Tony grew up at IL where his dad went to school, and their two mainstays are Chicago & Vegas.)

This isn't a shite on AEW post but more pointing out that Tony missed his chance as Verne did (ex. Verne demanding Hogan's royalties).
