I’m by no means trying to reduce blame to the driver, but that driving wasn’t THAT crazy for Italy. They drive incredibly crazy there, if you drive for just 30 mins or so on the Autostrade you’ll have multiple people pass you going 120+ mph. I’ve been going roughly 85 mph (130-135kph) and people fly by you.

My craziest moment was we went on a tour in a 10 person van and the frickin driver passed a motorcycle on a two lane road in a long arse tunnel, and they don’t drive motorcycles slow over there.

Driving there is fun as hell; it’s nice to not have any idiots waiving you on to go, rolling through stop signs like it’s your job, going fast, etc. But it’s also dangerous.
