No, it’s the LPSC that rubber stamps every increase presented to them by these companies It’s the LPSC that’s worthless.

I had to pay a record bill for service in June like everyone else.

Here’s my take; three major canes hit testing up all the infrastructure. The power companies had to r’m react immediately. People demand power.

I saw hundreds of bucket trucks mobilized to do that. Those men have to be paid. They have to be fed and sheltered. Overtime had to be paid. We have to have power.

Natural gas prices shot up. June was hit as hell. It was the worst case scenario.

Now did the PSC protect our interests? Did they give Entergy a fair profit and no more? I don’t know, but that’s their job. But they live in La. andI know what goes on. I know the meeting they had the other day was a sham. It was done to tell folks the PSC cares but rates were already set and approved months ago.

There is no free lunch. But we don’t went to pay for a Chris’ steak and get served one from Bonanza either. Is the PSC doing their job? Entergy is. For the most part anyway.

I get all that. But wasn't Entergy funded by the government? I don't know so forgive me if that's a ridiculous question. But I'm pretty sure they were given some sort of financial assistance during that time. And then how much of a bonus/raise did the higher ups at Entergy get this year?

I agree with your Ruth's Chris analogy in that regard. I get that they need extra money. But to me, it seems as though Entergy blew through all the money they had to deal with something like that, and then turned around and put ALL of the responsibility on the customers. At the same time, they make their huge raise and huge bonus (at a time where there should be a company wide freeze to deal with the cost of rebuilding).

Sucks, but I had to go through something similar where I work (shitty raise, took away 401(K) match for a while, etc.) It sucked for a couple of years until we got everything back and got a great bonus. But the company paid off what they needed to and we got back to normal. Entergy put EVERYTHING on the customers to pay for all the rebuilding and never looked back.

Here's a start. Go to other states and look at their grid. It's not a bunch of weak wooden poles leaning on the edge of a ditch going down the road. Yet Entergy is going to do the same g damn thing and replace all the poles until the next storm comes and pushes them to the side.
