I posted this in the other thread about the same article when it was posted last week. Before starting on Abilify My wife had crippling panic attacks and depression so severe that the tasks of daily living were almost too much for her. Over the course of about ten days it stopped the panic attacks completely and helped her depression so much that she's able to function as an adult. Maybe they don't understand the mechanism like they thought. Maybe it's over prescribed. But for someone with severe depression, these medicines are lifesavers. People with Agendas are going to misinterpret this study, people will go off their meds, and people will die.
I’m man enough to admit that at one point I got on Lexapro, an SSRI, for about a year and it changed the trajectory of my life forever.
I was able to turn things around and learn healthy habits and then ween off the medication.
It’s been years that I’ve been off now and I don’t take anything anymore, my life is in such a great place and my mind and mental health is as good as it’s ever been.
I truly credit that drug for saving my life/allowing me to function in a manner to help me help myself back onto the right path.

So it wasnt the drugs. It was you doing something about your life.
Just like it is for anyone no matter what drugs they did or did not take.
Since we are finding out the drugs do nothing, thats all it comes down to.
