I have a Cajun Custom "Trigger" spinning rod and I only use it for finesse fishing unweighted soft plastics or light jigheads (1/16). It's really good for that application. I have the 7ft. Light Power/Fast Action

Yeah, definitely could be the rod type. I haven't had a need to try cajun at the medium or light level yet, the falcons have held up so well.
