I agree completely. I have my bass arsenal of 15ish combos full of kistler, shimano expride, daiwa blx, etc... and then my salt stuff is 3 or 4 rods, some just older bass gear and some saltwater specific that I caught on sale (TFO GIS inshore, older green label Castaway, older model shimanos, etc...) and they're paired with reels I don't mind if they get beat up like a Calucutta 200B, Daiwa Coastal Inshore Special 153H, etc...

There are a few occasions where I'll bring the bass gear to the marsh, specifically targeting light biting winter trout on the bottom.
