Budget?
Under $100, stick with falcon or St croix Triumph rods
Have $200 to spend? Look at the G Loomis E6X, TFO tacticals, St croix premier, Bull Bay rods… theres a lot of good rods in the $100-200 range
Want to try a higher end rod to see what the fuss is about? I picked up a St. Croix Legend Xtreme a couple years ago and after 2 trips added a second. They are pricey (used to be $350, but now are $600… yikes!) but I’ve debated selling a number of my other rods just to buy one or two more of the xtremes. Super sensitive, lightweight, lifetime warranty… my favorite rods to fish wish nowadays.
