Anyone ever stay at Palmquist Farms in winter to ski? Bringing family and so far have trip to stay at farm for 3 days. We will also go ride snowmobile in eagle river, dog sledding Minnesota, ice fishing, and lake itassca. It will be in February for Mardi Gras break Any other ideas of things to do in area? Flying into Chicago and driving. Flying out of St. Paul.

I must have driven right past this place a couple weeks ago on my way home from Phillips, which is about 20 miles away. I had to look it up because I wasn't familiar. Looks cool. I've got friends that live on a lake outside Phillips year round and I go up a couple times a year. I'm not sure what there is to do during the winter. Minocqua's fun and your best bet probably for touristy stuff.
My family lives 45 minutes east of St Paul so I'm familiar with that side of the state too.

Go to eagle river are almost every year . . . in the summer.
If, when you go, the bayfield ice caves are open and accessible you need to throw out your itinerary and go. There is also have sled ferry you can take to Madeline island from bayfield, but all of that is a couple hours away from eagle river or palmquist farms.
