Miss those planes. I think the 727 had a max speed of 599 mph. Yes, I nerded out as a kid looking up stats on jets. Also, as a child, that DC-10 Luxury Liner American Airlines was a memorable first class ride out to California from DFW back in the day.

I used to make that thing beg for mercy when I was a commuter, I'd get it up to about .86-.88 and keep it on the barber pole until about 12-15 miles from the end of the runway on the last leg home
