I think we are as good as Florida , I think we can and will beat LSU
48 to 14 . I don't think LSU has a defense !! All we have to do to
score is throw the ball downfield 20 or more to the ouside and LSU
has no answer for that .They cannot stop the crossing routes ,
LSU just is not the team that they were this time last
year .Offense that LSU has is almost none , if we stop the run , the
game is over . I say the game is over before it starts , Our team
will do what they want to against the LSU team . The fans will be
out of the game early !! Go Dawgs

Why Georgia can beat LSU

It's LSU week - our biggest game since Bama ruined our Black Out. I
say it's our turn to trash someone else's house, and here are a couple
of reasons why we just might be able to do it:
1. Is LSU as strong as their name? Looking at their schedule, what has
LSU really accomplished? Like UGA, they've beaten the one "top tier"
team they've played, but who have they beaten? South Carolina is by
far their best win. Here's a comparison to our schedules (rankings
courtesy expanded BCS at Tellshow.com):
LSU Opponent - UGA Opponent
10. Florida (L) - 2. Alabama (L)
36. South Carolina - 30. Vanderbilt
63. Auburn - 36. South Carolina
87. Mississippi State - 47. Central Michigan
119. North Texas - 71. Tennessee
FCS App. State - 79. Arizona State
NA - FCS Georgia Southern
2. LSU's defense is not as dominant as they've been in the past. LSU
and Georgia are averaging nearly the same points per game on offense
(31.7 for UGA vs. 31.2 for LSU). On defense, however, UGA is only
surrendering 17.7 vs. 21.5 for LSU (and UGA's has been against better
competition). If we can put up 24-27 on LSU, I feel good about our
chances.
3. Our defense matches up well to LSU's offense. It's no secret that
if UGA is going to struggle, it is against the pass. While LSU's
rotating QBs have shown promise, they have been very inconsistent. We
can take their 3 running backs out of the game plan and make their
QB(s) try to beat us.
4. Our offense is truly balanced. If LSU stacks the box to stop
Moreno, Stafford can burn them deep with Green and Mass. If they play
to stop the deep ball or blitz to disrupt the pass, screens and draws
by Moreno can gash them. The key is to not get behind early and be
forced into playing catch-up - a la the Bama game.
Will it be easy? Hell no. But I like UGA's chances to go into Baton
Rouge and sneak away with a hard-nosed, close win. Call it Dawgs on
top, 27-24.

Like I posted last night, Georgia thinks we will be a cakewalk based on our performance against Florida. This is a trap game for the previously annointed 2008 National Champion bulldog team. They will be looking ahead to the Gayters. We will sneak up on them.

Did PeeJ write that?

Nothing as important as being the "National Program" that gets their arse whipped in the NC game like OSU has..
This LSU/UGA game should've taken place last January in NO.

Did UGA win a national title this decade?

I agree, if UGA is as good as UF, they will handle LSU. I'm not sure they are as good as UF. I doubt UF would be down by 30 at halftime against Bama.

I can't wait to see Green Vs Peterson.
Posted on 10/21/08 at 1:18 pm to biglego
yea, that was actually an intelligent argument backed up by facts.
on paper, LSU should lose, but that is why we play the game.
i think it is all up to the defense. Scott will get us through because he always goes forward.
Also, don't forget that LSU does tend to play better in tiger stadium for some reason.

I can. I'm still not confident about LSU's pass D.

I understand your frustration, but come on. Georgia didn't even make it to the conference championship game. How in god's name do you justify that?

We may lose, but this will not be Florida Redux.

Because I saw the results of the OSU/LSU game. OSU was clearly not the best team in the nation...or even in the Top 5.
Plus, it's fun to piss off OSU fans.
