No, the BCS was not perfect it worked pretty well after 2005 when they finally settled
on a formula, with one notable exception.
Whatever problems the BCS had were only magnified by the CFP.

Worked better before 2005. In 2003 I had a printout on my refrigerator showing what games needed to go which way for each contender.
Giving the pollsters too much say made it a lot worse.
