Despite what I thought was a success with fans...
Both the LA Times and Washington Post (two worthless rags) slammed the US world championships as fan failures.
But it wasn't... It was coverage failures by media.
He'll even European rags begged off and they love this shite...so little coverage.
Media presence. Global presence. Can a tiny city in Oregon be that? The world is saying basically no. It has to be in big markets...which is a shame because I think it plays better in places like Eugene. We don't always need L.A.

“I feel the ball’s been dropped a little bit, not going to lie,” said sprinter Noah Lyles, who broke the 200 meters American record during the meet. “I feel there could have been way more advertisement on America’s side. This is an immaculate meet.
And this is by far the best track and field meet that America has had in years.
And I’m watching these immaculate performances, and I’m like, ‘The crowd is here, yes. But gosh darn it was this not put together well.’ All the times are happening late at night. I’m still barely seeing much presence outside of what NBC is doing. Yes, people are talking about it. But people are late.
“It’s not so much the people inside of track. It’s the people who are trying to say they want to be a part of track, and they are not fully committed to distributing the information.
People need to be saying how big of a deal this is or why this is so important. The whole story should be, ‘If you think this is amazing, just wait until L.A ….’ That’s what this is. This is a prelude to L.A.”

After Lyles won the 200 and USA swept, I turned over to ESPN to see if they were talking about it on Sportscenter.... They were airing 10 minutes of WNBA coverage over some chick retiring.
It would have been hilarious if it weren't so sad. Espn barely even acknowledged that the event was even taking place and barely even showed the results on their scroll.
If the media wants to blend anyone, though, blame NBC first and foremost for airing the event around on different networks and airing most of the big events at like 10 pm Eastern and airing shite like Indy car on the weekends over track coverage.
I could also see a lot of international media sending skeleton crews as well because of how remote and limited the Eugene site is.
If it were in NY or LA, I'm sure more media attention would have been placed on it but Oregon has the stadium.
