Yeah, Texas allows you to keep your homestead exemption for the home you purchased and intend to return to after your service is complete.

I’m sure other states do as well, I assumed (wrongly) that Louisiana did as well. I assumed the state would want to incentive veteran/mil folks to stay and return to the state. Guess I was wrong.
