He hit a lot of home runs against below par pitching staffs, and only hit for about .a 255 batting average.

What were his SEC + postseason numbers? Likely around .220 with 5 home runs.

If he stays, is healthy, and has a good fall...he has a spot. In other words, he's pretty close, like I said. All of those things have to happen, though. It is also possible that 1 or a few of those things don't happen, and you have other really good players that force him into a platoon role. I think Jay has every intention of having a spot for Dugas to play every day, but Jay also has every intention of getting the best 9 on the field...whether that is transfers, freshmen, or not.
