There are only 2 solutions:
1- pay more attention to the emotional and developmental needs of young men, and develop societal policies that reinforce the nuclear family. This begins with the cessation of male shaming 8’ education including but not limited to- trying to force females into spheres that men naturally prefer, a greater focus on sports and other means to allow boys to exert themselves physically, and curriculum in schools that addresses the ways that boys learn differently than girls (ex renewed focus on competition as opposed to always collaborating- which is how girls learn), reading materials focused on things that interest boys.
2-the return to more traditional gender roles will take at least a generation. So, in the meantime- stiffer penalties for gun crimes of all types including stiffer penalties for crimes of violence when committed with a firearm, and convicted felons found in possession of firearms.
