Yall think the cheap frick who 1099'd his niece and is pleading for free tax advice is gonna come off any money?

The niece learned a good lesson about working for friends and family.

I do love that we’re piling on the OP

But he didn’t 1099 her right? He simply tried to get a tax benefit (writing off childcare) and the byproduct affected his niece.

I’m just curious though how did she get roped in? You named her? I guess I didn’t realize you had to specify who did the babysitting.

How would he have claimed childcare credits without affecting his niece?


As others have said - at this point your niece is obligated to file a return now. It’s not that she’d owe the income tax, but you brought the governments eyes upon her lol
