Will PP be matched up against AJ Green? If so, it might be a good oportunity to see what he can do.

he played just about all game last night on D...got to see what he could do...looked pretty good

I watched the game last night- so I know he played the whole game...but none of SC's recievers are anywhere near the caliber of AJ Green- arguably the best reciever in the SEC.

Kenny McKinley is pretty fricking good. While I'll admit AJ is UGA's best WR, and one of the best in the league, he isn't any better than Brandon LaFell or Demetrius Byrd (who I'm sure the CBs will practice against this week)
Up to this point, Chris Hawkins has been our best cover man. PP is the best athlete, but he's still taking bad angles at times. I don't see Hawkins get beat too often. The only real mistake that sticks out in my mind is letting Louis Murphy for UF get around him two weeks ago which set up a TD, but that was more of a perfect throw/good route than a bad defensive play.

False. He has the most INT's but Jai is always covering his guy well and his opposition almost never makes a catch. If he does, Jai is there for a quick tackle.

:kige:
We haven't heard his name on tv alot and that is a great thing. He is not getting his arse burnt.

Yes he is...I'm not sure how much better- but I've never seen him drop any passes that SHOULD have been caught. Can't say the same for our guys.

How often is Chris burnt? Another reason you don't hear Jai's name as much is because he doesn't play as much. Chris is basically always on the field, but Jai and PP switch out.

If you mean he has gotten beat like a poor man's Danny McCray, you would be right. Jai has been our best cover guy in my opinion.

He's played like 6 games. Brandon has had like 3 drops all fricking year. Demetrius had a pass stripped last night; he didn't drop it.
AJ Green is not better than either of these guys.

UF, and I think it was his man that was open against Auburn on that long pass. Jai would have been beat yesterday if KM had caught that pass on Garcia's scramble, but other than that Jai hasn't been beat.

Are you referring to the pass that Louis Murphy caught on a perfect route/pass in tight coverage?
Dude, there's a reason Jai doesn't play as much as Chris. You can sit here and try to point out the couple of mistakes Chris has made this year, but you have to realize how much more he's played.

I do realize he has played more, but I really don't think he is our best cover guy.

You mean the out and up that Chris bit on UF's first drive of the third quarter? That wasn't tight coverage
Did you see Harry Coleman lagging behind the play? When the ball hit Murphy's hands, Chris' arm was maybe a foot away from the ball. That's pretty tight coverage. As a CB, you don't know what route the WR is running, so for him to basically be an arm's length away from making the play with no safety help is pretty good.

Are you serious? Chris' arm is not anywhere close to a foot away from the ball. I have a screen shot that shows that Chris was beat by at least two to three yards. I can't post it right now, because this comp sucks, but when I get home I will post it. If you pause it at 3:04, you will see Murphy at the 10 and Hawkins at the 12. At 3:05, Murphy jumps, Hawkins is still a yard to yard and a half behind him. You can say that Hawkins is our best cover guy, but there is no way that you can call that tight coverage.

He doesn't have full possession of the ball until the 3:05 mark. Louis is on the 9, Chris is on the 10 (going by where their feet are). Chris' left arm is extended straight out, only a foot or so away from the ball in Murphy's hands.
And despite how much you want to overanalyze one play in which Chris was "burnt" (in a game where everyone was dominated and a play where Harry didn't help), that doesn't have anything to do with him not being our best cover guy.
If Jai was our best cover guy, he wouldn't have gotten REPLACED last night in favor of PP now would he? If he was the best CB, he'd be starting always.

Agree to disagree. I am only analyzing because you said it was tight coverage. It wasn't, but Hawkins showed decent recovery speed. There is about a yard of space between the two, and if that isn't being beat, then I don't know what is. A better throw by Tebow would have led to a TD. The CBS replay which showed the whole field illustrates how badly Chris got beat, but I can't find a video of that. But it was worse than any of our corners have been beat all year. It isn't as close as you are making it out to be.

Jai has shown to be our best cover guy in games. Also, Jai and PP play the same side of the field, and in our defense, they always play that side of the field. So Chris' back up isn't PP, but Phelon. I would still take Jai and PP over CH.
