All the time and from the reaction of the people that have eaten it, it is well worth the time to prepare.
I love my red sauce to be thick and make mine from scratch using tomato paste, tomato sauce and diced tomatoes as the base. No Ragu or other finished, pre-made tomato sauce goes in it.
I also cook my sauce for no less than 4 hours for the finished product.
