When all's said and done will he be considered the most influencial actor of our lifetime? More than Pacino and Deniro? I think so. He has already demonstrated the impeccable ability to carry a show all by himself.

Woah skipper slow down.
Give him about 15 more years of good work before that.

I think Bale has the potential to be considered the most influencial actor of our lifetime, only time will tell if he delivers.
American Psycho, Reign of Fire, The Machinist, 3:10 to Yuma, The Prestige, Dark Knight series all show his potential. Yet he always seems to have an Equilibrium or Rescue Dawn type film to counter his good flicks.

I should add: If Bale and Christopher Nolan continue to work together, they will be unstoppable.

I like Bale as an actor and he looks amazingly fresh in a suit and tie like in Batman and american psycho. no homo

And those aren't even really bad films, just not as good as his other films. Other than Hard Times, I don't think he has made a really bad movie.

He's not even better than Norton.
I still think American History X>Anything Bales done.

If you folks haven't seen 'Empire Of The Sun'..do so..that's where it all started for the most part.

Sure I'm in the minority, but I think American Psycho and The Machinist are comparable to AHX. Though I liked Fight Club and my wife loves Keeping the Faith, I haven't seen anything by Norton since Death to Smoochy that really blew me away. In comparison, Bale has put out some stellar films lately. Both are quality actors though.

I know I'm going to get torn up for this, considering that most of his movies are pretty weak, but I think Matthew McConaughey has a lot of untapped potential. You see glimpses of it in Reign of Fire, Time to Kill, Frailty, Lone Star.
He'll never be a Norton or a Bale, but with the right director and the right role he could really make a name for himself.

MM has been in a weird movie funk for a number of years now...
