I've found the store brand goes bad quicker than the name brand.

My wife says this too. Often times Kleinpeter will have a date 15 days out and the store brand will be 6. We don't use a lot of milk so I don't mind paying more.

I know a guy that is the store manager of a Walmart in Texas. I asked him about the milk thing. He said he does not allow milk to come into the store unless it’s at least 15 days out from its expiration date…that goes for store brand as well. The issue is that they get WAYYYYYY more store brand milk than say Borden or kleinpeter so it usually just sits on a pallet in the cooler for a week before it is rotated into stock, whereas the name brand stuff is almost always put on the shelf immediately due to the smaller quantities they receive.
