Thanks for posting. I was skeptical but was willing to give the other a chance to provide a link. This makes a lot more sense. Obviously if they were selling at a 40% loss while others were selling at enormous gains, it would create a flood of profitable middle men to bid on the discrepancy, and close the huge gap.

The only way for Russia to sell kinda sorta to the world market is ship to a blending terminal where the crude is blended with other crude and loses identity, then loaded on ANOTHER ship. All of this costs real money. Iranian smugglers who are buying blackmarket crude at Iranian terminals do this all the time, but in very small tankers

Freight rates from Russian ports are way the frick up. Ship insurance rates too IF you can find a shipowner. Heck, Russia's major ship owner is having to sell off due lack of cash flow
