Was fishing one time in GI and caught a small gaft top on an artificial. It’s barb went into my shoe and got me in the heel. Didn’t hurt at first then noticed my foot getting warm. Took the shoe off and had a lot of blood in the shoe. Damn toxins caused my blood to thin and was pouring out. Once it stopped bleeding it just hurt. One part bleach and 9 parts water is a great antiseptic.
