How was Franklin huge in the Louisiana Purchase? Franklin died in 1790 and the purchase didn't go down until 1803? In between you have the French Revolution, the uprising in Haiti, and Spain giving Louisiana back to France. Seems like Franklin wouldn't have much influence at all.
