Know your history before you start opining about cats. Read about the plague centuries ago? We all know what caused it. Fleas. Fleas on rats. The plague spread like wild fire when everyone in Europe started killing all the cats. If they would have left those little predators alone, historians believe the plague would not have spread as fast as it did.

However, IMO, since I am a cat owner, I do not let him outside except on my patio which is screened in. The reason is because I dont want a wild animal or a dog to kill him and I damn sure dont want to find him dead from being hit by a car or killed because some stupid fricker just hates cats. Either way, with the massive population of birds in this world, trust me when I say, they arent putting a dent in the bird population.

But Im sure you are ok with cats killing tree rats right?

That is incorrect. The number of wild birds in the world is decreasing and feral and outdoor cats are one of the big reasons.

I’m not. Plus I don’t call squirrels tree rats

The biggest threat is other cats. Dogs can rarely pin down a cat. They escape, get in small areas, climb trees.

My cat used to taunt the dog across the street who was inside an electrical fence. One day the dog ran real fast and broke through. It was like someone close lined him. Rolled across the road. My cat ran back to our yard and up a tree. He was a friendly cat so I don’t think he was actually taunting him, but it looked that way
