Just looked them up.
Biggest movies for the year were Back to the Future, The Breakfast Club, The Color Purple, Blood Simple, The Goonies, Ran, Brazil, Fletch, and St. Elmo’s Fire.
Not as strong as most of the years mentioned.
I knew they were close in time, but I didn’t realize Breakfast Club and St. Elmo’s came out the same year, with Emilio, Ally Sheedy, and Judd Hirsch playing high schoolers in the Chicago suburbs and recent Georgetown grads within months lol.
