Well to be fair none of those things help her lift more weight so why do the judges care.
It doesn’t necessarily mean it’s racist but she still has a point.

I disagree based on a few points.
1. They didn't just create the rule the week before the meet. If she didn't know it ahead of time, her coach certainly should have.

2. This is the new "boy who cried 'wolf'", except that the villagers are still running to the pasture to scare off the wolf which isn't there. Females of all races wear clips and beads (although beads are a bit more prevalent in black culture).
3. If they are banning hair clips, which many races wear, bandanas, etc. then purposely excluding beads simply because blacks are more likely to wear them would be racist.
