Whew, thanks for the clarification. I was worried.

Hang a sign in the window while driving? Newspaper?

If it's not selling, you're asking too much.

Every car lot in the country is trying to figure the same mystery out that you are. Trucks aren't selling.

For the hell of it, put something up on Craigs List in your city and maybe looking into News on Wheels for an add.

I only have trouble selling a car once. After two months of no luck and a price drop, someomone stole the damn thing. The police recovered it in the hood with enough major items stolen that the insurance company totalled it and gave me the full value that I was originally trying to sell for.

I'm not kidding.
Those thiefs were pros as they only stole two air bags and another one or two items. The labor to put those airbags back in was huge from what the insurance rep told me.

I was greedy too and tried to get a little more out of State Farm, but she laughed and said she saw the for sale sign in the car.

drop it to 9,995.00. you will be taking only a 605.00 hit and the people will jump on it thinking that is only "9000.00". trust me. this illusion is the best marketing strategy.

find a car dealer who will be honest with you and ask him what they are going for at auctions- that will give you the real value

Second,
On weekends park the sucker where fellow rednecks hang out-- you know Bass pro, Cabellas, etc make sure you have 3 or 4 for sale signs- on it

A vehicle is only worth what someone will pay for it.

and for what it is worth I would sell my new car with 6K miles in a heartbeat- IF I would have known the economy was going to tank I would have kept driving the old one

Put it on Autotrader.com.

You should be able to sell that thing. Is it a manual?

The problem you have is that you can get great deals on new trucks- and maybe more importantly the credit market is tight unless you have great credit-

So you are really looking for a cash buyer- make sure you put OBO in the add- you are not obligated to take the offer

by the way- why are you selling?

You do realize that this is exactly the vehicle people are running from?

Good luck, but 2008 has been the death of the big truck.

Find your nearest construction crew/pipeliners and park it across the street from the jobsite. If they don't buy it, chances are that they might know someone who will.

Until fuel cost get under control ($2.25/gal) You either have to give it away or get agressive with your marketing strategy. Keep it spotless, Park it in high volume areas, or try autotrader.com. Good Luck

The market on regular size trucks is tanked. You might get someone to pay wholesale, but not more.

I parted with my Chevy Silverado Ext Cab recently for wholesale, after trying newspaper, craigslist, parking it, etc.

Trucks are gas guzzlers as you probably already know and potential buyers know it too.

My loss, their gain, I now drive an itty bitty Ford Ranger that gets much better gas mileage.
