Steen’s father didn’t graduate from LSU - he only attended LSU for a short time before transferring to a smaller school.
And you have a valid point about the playing time availability at Alabama vs. LSU. It seems more likely that LSU provides a quicker path to becoming a starting OT than does Bama.
There is only one other issue that may have been a hangup for Steen & LSU, and that would be Marcus Dumervil. I don’t know the extent of Tyler‘s relationship to Marcus but I would assume they are friends since they played the same position at St. Thomas Aquinas high school years ago. And even though Dumervil is not a starting OT yet, I wonder if this Steen family felt like they would be setting Marcus back by transferring to LSU and potentially taking over at one of the tackle positions.
In a recent interview, Steen‘s father told a reporter that they were not looking to “replace anyone” at whatever school he transfers too.
Made me wonder if he was throwing that out there kinda as an olive branch to the Dumervil family. You would imagine the Steen family is probably friends with the Dumervil family, seeing as how their boys played Two years of high school football together

I'm not buying this for a second.
