My resume isn't fake as far as my credentials, but i paid someone to make it for me. Let me tell you, it was the best money ever spent. It basically made me look like a God in a new industry (from oilfield to defense). Got a new job that came with a 40% pay increase. Took only 1 month, interview was easy as hell. You could tell they were drooling over the resume.

Heh, I did this as well back in 2011-2012 or so and it actually worked. Fresh out of school, zero expierience, could only get a job at Best Buy, and a guy in my field (IT/Infosec) looked at my resume, and formatted in a way that made me look like some kind of Jedi Master.

I have added on to this same resume ever since. It hasn't failed me yet.

I call it marking up résumés and that’s not saying anything fake is on there or exaggerated. My mother was a HR manager for a huge engineering firm many years and she knows what resumes should and shouldn’t look like. I’ve taken several friends of mine résumés over the years and marked them up. The majority of the time there’s too much shite in peoples résumés. Cover your primary scope of past work highlighting everything critical but don’t fill it with every single detail. Also, nobody gives a shite what high school or the year you graduated. I’ve seen people with half a page dedicated to high school. They don’t care you were in Drama all 3 years.
