Need advice regarding modest 403k investment for legacy gift

Like most lower level investors such as myself, the last 2 months my 403k value has lost value and, of course, my investment advisor still pulls out their management fees also! Last year, since I have little trust in the Biden administration, I switched from
75%/25% Stock/Bond ratio to 40%/60% ratio!
But, my principle value dropped by $18,000 the last 2 months.

Any advice is appreciated to help me protect my modest principle as is?

I am a 66 year old retiree! This money is for legacy gift only!

How close are you to retirement? If decades, up your contributions (max if possible), switch back to a more aggressive ratio and don't worry about it.
