+1 on live, in general. If a band has talent and proficiency at their craft, that's the way. The energy is on another level. I like music that sounds like people actually playing instruments. Production matters - especially the last couple of decades, many/most studio albums have been over-produced in some ways that rob music of its spirit.

The plus for studio is it allows musicians & producers to craft things with techniques that are hard to do in real time, and may require pre-recorded material in live performance.

As great as the studio version of Skynyrd's "Gimme Three Steps" is the One More From The Road cut kicks it's arse.
