I love geography ones…
•There’s a point in Tennessee closer to Canada than Memphis
•Maine is the closest state to Africa
•El Paso is closer to the Pacific Ocean than Houston
•The northern tip of Brazil is closer to EVERY other country in the americas than it is to the southern tip of Brazil.

Alaska is our northernmost state and, because of the international dateline running through the Aleutian Islands, it’s also both our westernmost and easternmost.

Africa is the only continent that covers all 4 Hemispheres.
Lake Taal on the island of Luzon, in the northern end of the Philippines archipelago, holds a special distinction. It’s one of only two lakes in the world, as of now, to have a third order island within it —the lake itself being part of the order. In other words, Lake Taal, which is located within the island of Luzon, has an island (Volcano Island) that has a lake (Crater Lake) that contains its own small island called Vulcan Point.
China covers 5 time zones but only uses one. (UTC+8, the time in Beijing.)
