Bro I wanted the ranger option why would I want that if I was worried about my knee? Can you read? They knew I didn’t want anything else. So they told me to lie so I go off knowing I’d probably blow my knee out in airborne and get caught anyways.
I met so many guys at Fort Benning Infantry training with past injuries who had Option 40 Ranger Contracts and 18 Xray Special Forces Recruit Contracts. you know the difference between them and you? They didn't make up silly excuses and kept driving on.
you need to listen to what I'm saying, you wouldn't have been accepted in the combat arms world. there are so many people who go AWOL because they can't handle waking up at 4 everyday to run 6 miles, going on long Ruck Marches that form permanent calluses under your feet. You go to the field for two weeks at a time and it is snowing, raining or super hot outside.
Your back is always hurting, your knees are in constant pain, your joints crack when you get up. The thing is you're still an 18 year old and you feel 35 when you wake up. This is just daily infantry stuff, in Ranger Battalion its cranked up to 1000 and many people get kicked out 2 weeks after getting there for Failure To Meet Standards.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Tiny Heart.

That sounds like me getting out of bed 18 months after retiring.

The last day I had to go out in play clothes was one of the best days of my life.

That's 75% of the Army.. Whether combat arms or not. Not saying the infantry life ain't tough, but thats not one of those things that makes it 'tough'.
