I think its 50/50. I do know some older people that are genuinely scared to death and trying everything to not catch Covid. All for different reasons some have legit health issues beyond their control, some because someone close to them died or came close to dying.
Others I think it is political. I have considered a few times that I might totally mask up. Cover myself in such a way that totally covers my skin and wear dark shades into a few stores to see if it freaks ppl out just for shits and giggles.
