My first thought when I read your post was “hell no!”, but I’m not retirement age .

I asked my dad who is (he’s lived in the Wichita Falls/Lawton, OK area for essentially his entire life minus 20 years). In his opinion, it would not be a bad choice. It has just about all you need, except for entertainment. OKC and DFW are only a couple of hours away for more of what you don't get in town.

Where would you be relocating from? Are there any other areas you’re considering?

Good luck

Baton Rouge so I’m sure most anywhere will be an upgrade in most respects.

I’ve lived in large cities, beach cities, winters of Minneapolis, obviously south LA summers. The close proximity to VA is appealing as I’m a veteran (not retired but I could uses the benefits)

I’m definitely looking to FLA or TX for a lot of the same reasons. Seems like North TX area would be more afforded largely because the lack of amenities that FLA or the big cities of TX offer.

Is there any industrial business in the area (engineering)? Seems most of the work I’ve see is medical & inside/outside sales. Cost of living being less in WF I’m sure I could stand to make less I do in BR.
