The sister in law moved there when the fighting started in Ukraine in 2014. China seems to have a lot more control over there citizens then Russia. In-laws seem free to go about their business. The standard of living is probably below ours, but I wouldn't consider them a poor country.

Can they watch American news, or is it strictly Russian propaganda? I’m just curious if they’re more tyrannical than we realize.
