One night I was following a friend to a party. We were stopped at that 4-way when the lights lit up. The cop pulled both of us over at the intersection. There is no way he could have clocked us inside of their jurisdiction because it doesn't start until after the intersection. Doesn't matter, he got us both.

Before my court date, I called the city that butts up to their jurisdiction and talked to them about it. I didn't have to explain anything. The lady already knew what I was going to ask and why. She just laughed and wished me luck.

I wonder what happens if you just blow off the cop in a situation like this? Like they approach the car, you see that they're from Trinity, which you know you haven't entered, so you tell them right then and there that they're outside their jurisdiction, roll up your window, and drive away the direction you came from. If they call the neighboring jurisdiction, it sure sounds like they wouldn't do anything to enforce on Trinity's behalf.

As to the OP, was about to post this myself after running into it online. When the county sheriff says the town is out of line, they're way out of line. I hope the feds do go down there and bust some heads, issue some refunds, and take away all of that equipment.

15 cops for a town of 1200 people? Unreal.

Don't they get around this technicality by having officers deputized in neighboring areas.
