I always thought it was a New Orleans school, like UNO or Tulane, since the Stucci brothers mention being able to show their faces in Tipitina's again.
But on the subject, Robert McCammon, author, mentions LSU in a few of his books. Specifically Gone South where the evil banker proudly wears his LSU ring to work.
