Even this is no longer reliable. Unless you're able to be in every situation "first hand" and witness the events for yourself without the aid of someone else's relaying the information.
Short of that I'd say at best you have lass than 50% chance of hearing the truth and if race or politics are involved that goes down to 0% real quick.

Reality is by locality...
Even worse though, we make terrible witnesses. Cameras up, objective note taking during an event.
