This in a nutshell. Removing tiles, especially stuff down in thin set and grouted in is a HUGE PITA to deal with and messy as hell.
Glued down laminate is no fun either.
Most people that are shocked by labor pricing really have no clue as to what is involved in the job and what it takes to do it right.
