I’m in Covington and $3/sqft is what I was quoted by multiple companies to remove tile and glue down engineered, but that was with haul away too. I would make sure they’re doing that at that price. I did LVP new and it was $1.75 sqft install, but it was floating so the install was cheap. Your patch seems high but don’t know what your job entails. Your project isn’t a lot of sqft either so that may be why the $/sqft is high.

For mine, I rented a demo hammer from Home Depot and took up my tile myself. I already had a dumpster so it was no big deal although some pretty physical work. I tried to take up the engineered too and it was an absolute nightmare. If yours was a crap install, it may be easy for you to take up. Mine was installed well and it came up inch by inch and in shards. Ended up paying the guys to remove the engineered and they came in with a riding scraper machine that knocked it out in a day.
