Maine blows away most places in the USA, but I am biased. I go every year and do a work contract over the summer and bring my family along. One thing I've noted is that there's a surprising number of southern transplants up there. Last time I was there I made several nice people who fled shithole new orleans. So you'll do fine, I'm sure plenty of people from Georgia wind up there too.

Just make sure to look up winter survival tips up there and pick your coworkers brains and you'll be fine.

I'd stay up there full time if I could, but I'm trying to make sure my kids get to spend as much time with my father as they can.


I also went all the time when I was single: used tinder, never lacked for a date or more when I wanted it Just be warned there are some crazy bitches up there that will invite themselves to your place if you seem even the least bit attractive and successful. I've met some women up there that were thirsty beyond belief, and that's fine, but when there's 3-4 of them who all want your time and know where you live, well then you've got problems.

Anyway its worth it just for the experience.
