I noticed Manny wearing one last night. I guess they don't want to bite their tounges.

I know hes not a hitter, but Mike Pelfrey wears one because he would stick his tongue out when he was throwing his fastball

I used to wear one when I played high school ball.

It's just a smart thing to do. Think about it.

80 to 100 mph fastball... only 32 teeth...

I've never understood why more baseball players don't use 'em.

That mouthpiece saved me a lot of trouble... especially in the infield.
