Its a decent neighborhood in a good part of Baton Rouge. (Aka southeast baton rouge). I feel safe in Shenandoah at night. Generally always a police officer patrolling it.

Edit: The O’neal area I see people commenting about is suspect, but that isnt until you get to South Harrells Ferry. There are some good newer neighborhoods down Oneal between Shenandoah and that random collection of slums right before South Harrells Ferry. And then north of South Harrells Ferry is all shite.

I feel like SE BR hasn't really fared that well the past 10 years or so. Maybe the extreme SE parts like Hoo Shoo Too but Oneal, Millerville, Sherwood, Coursey, S Harrell's Ferry, Jones Creek etc are all worse to me now. We live in this area so I'm not crapping on it but the long term future is murky at best to me.

I guess in BR you are within a half mile of the hood just about everywhere it seems.
