Let someone break down basic life science for you….Jesus, I can’t believe I’m actually taking the time to write this.
Your body uses calories to live. Remeber that BMR business? Yeah, we have to eat to stay alive. Even if we do ZERO activity. Like just staying in bed.
Part of that is maintaining our magic body temperature of 98.7 degrees.
So yes, if it is cold outside and you are in the said outdoors- and not in some mega insulated suit that retains all heat (energy)- your body will have to burn more calories to maintain the temp it needs to live.
