I could understand your apprehension and lack of support if the financial cost burdened you, her or your family in a way where things like bills, savings, investments, etc. had to be ceased to subsidize it.

The same way I could understand a someone's apprehension to support their spouse's desire to buy a $85,000 truck or go hunting every weekend at a lease they can't afford or buy a boat well beyond what they can afford without cutting other part of the budget that would be considered financially irresponsible.
