It will never be like the Amilia Belle back where you from
As far as low energy gaming environment, the Amelia Belle has about as much excitement as a funeral home.
Unless the buffet has reopened, there was only a crappy snack stand for a food option there. The entire facility is on the water, except for a small operations center and warehouse. No valet parking. They recently launched sports betting with the other Boyd properties in Louisiana. I would expect a single window and a single gaming kiosk as their commitment to sports betting. The Amelia Belle had an entire level that is mostly open. The third level was used for its buffet and conference room. They could use that conference room for a full sports betting experience with tables and TVs all over. But I don’t think the bayou area would have enough sports gamblers to keep a full restaurant like Bet MGM at Beau Rivage at the Belle. They barely have enough business as it is.
I will happily drive my arse 2 and half hours to Mississippi where most buffets are open and I have multiple comps from different casinos that are minutes away from each other. Unlike Louisiana where you have to drive and hour or 2 to get to different casinos.
I know I am degenerate gambler.
Now that it has failed, next area where they need to consider moving to is Houma-Thibodaux. I know it will take the legislature’s blessing to add the ICWW in Terrebonne and Lafourche and Bayou Lafourche and surrounding waterways. If they built in the Raceland/Matthews area they could buy one of the golf courses there and build a resort.
